Whether you’re looking for your child’s first experience this half term or a more structured way to begin their climbing journey, we believe we have a pathway for all young people to start climbing. So whether that starts with a drop in session or more structured coaching, take a look at what we have to offer this February and let’s get your young person on the wall.

We will be running our Highball Play sessions across the week. Aimed at younger climbers who just want to climb for fun, these are single ‘drop in’ sessions with no commitment or coaching – it’s all about time on the wall!

These sessions are filling up fast so book now to avoid disappointment.

Bouldering school is a comprehensive introduction to the world of bouldering. Over two sessions, we’ll cover everything your young climber needs to know to start bouldering safely and effectively. Working in a group, we’ll cover bouldering techniques, how to minimise the risks, climbing wall etiquette and even some of the lingo.

The course takes place over two consecutive days and we have two groups running across the half term week. As expected, these groups are booking up fast with a limited amount of availability left.

As some will know, we have been running a pilot of NICAS Clip over the last month. Aimed at children aged 6+, NICAS Clip safely introduces young climbers into the indoor climbing environment while developing their awareness of climbing movements, improving confidence, and creating a pathway to additional climbing activities.

We are really pleased to say this has been a real success with the young individuals that took part in the pilot. Due to this success, we will be running this program moving forward and offering two groups so we can cater for more aspiring young climbers.

This program costs £75 and lasts 6 weeks. Each session will last 60 mins and we will be running two sessions per weekend with a maximum capacity of 6 children per group.
We have almost filled one of the group with less than two weeks till the next block starts so now is the time to book to avoid disappointment. Click below to book on to the next slot

At Highball, we want to make climbing as accessible as possible for young people. NICAS Wild Climbers makes this a possibility with a program designed to offer climbing skills and create a grassroots pathway in to climbing for young people aged 3+.

We are currently developing how we will deliver this ready for the spring and anticipate this to be a popular session with so many young parents among the Highball community so we are opening up early registration for this program.
