And we thought we’d give a post-competition round-up for those who couldn’t make it on Friday.
So, first things first: holding a competition on the same night as Black Friday? Slightly chaotic! We quickly discovered that trying to explain competition rules to one climber, while fitting a first pair of climbing shoes onto another is not for the weak.
So at 6.30pm, the competition kicked off! The first 15 minutes mainly involved people checking in, getting shoes on & warming up around the centre (or in the cafe). It was probably closer to 7pm before the comp wall really started getting busy.
Meanwhile, in the Highball kitchen we had Benny and Georgia prepping chicken burgers, sticky orange cauliflower wings, and chippies for hungry climbers (and hungry staff).
At 9.30pm, everyone stopped climbing and by 9:45 the scores were in…
We really enjoyed Round one, and we’d love to hear what you guys thought – so here’s a link to a feedback form.
Was there anything that needed better explanation? Was there anything you thought could’ve run smoother? Is there anything you’d like to see for Round Two in December?
Let us know!
See you soon –
Abby and the rest of the Highball Team 🙂
