FESTIVE OPENING HOURS
This year we will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day, but we’re open on Christmas Eve from 11:00 – 15:00 and New Years Eve from 10:00 – 16:00.
It’s also worth noting that we are closing at 18:00 on Friday 23rd. It’s the last working day before Christmas and we expect everyone to be hitting the pubs and bars after work. And in all honesty, we want to get involved too, as it’s our crew Christmas meal!
Then, as in previous years, we will operate our usual bank holiday opening hours between Christmas and New Year, of 10:00 – 18:00.
As boss man Mike kindly puts it: “Highball is open 362 days a year including 10pm closes every weekday. To have a whole week of no evenings is a once a year occasion; it’s so nice to allow the crew some extra time off to relax with friends and family.”
Breakdown of our opening hours for festive period are as follows:
- 23rd Dec – 10:00-18:00
- Christmas Eve – 11:00-15:00
- Christmas Day – Closed
- Boxing Day – Closed
- 27th Dec – 10:00-18:00 + Christmas Comp (see below)
- 28th Dec – 10:00-18:00
- 29th Dec – 10:00-18:00
- 30th Dec – 10:00-18:00
- New Years Eve – 10:00-16:00
- New Years Day – Closed
- 2nd Jan – 10:00-18:00
- 3rd Jan onwards – Back to regular hours.
THE CHRISTMAS COMP
Our Christmas Comp is being held on the December 27th at 12:45 – 14:45 with our normal self scoring format using Griptonite, so make sure you download it in advance and create an account, if you haven’t been using it around the centre already!
Then, similar to our Autumn Comp, there will be a final from 16:00 – 17:30 for the highest scoring ‘Top Guns’, for which isolation opens at 15:00.
Sign up to the comp bellow, more info coming to our socials and your emails if you’ve opted in the receive them. You can change your email preferences at any time in your Capitan Profile, just simply go to settings from the drop down menu.
SHOP AND GIFT CARDS
If you haven’t seen already we’ve made some upgrades to our shop, and we have recently had a big order arrive too, so stock is a plenty. Scarpa and Tenaya shoes, lots of new chalk bags and bundles, perfect for a great quick and easy Christmas present.

KIDS SESSIONS
If you’re looking for a fun indoor activity for the kids this Christmas, we’ve got you covered.
We have some 2 day Bouldering and Climbing Schools available for ages 8 -13, along with some Highball Play sessions for the youngsters aged 6 – 10.
We also have limited slots available for Private Taster Sessions, which are perfect for groups or families of up to 6 participants!
