This course is aimed at individuals who are either new to climbing or have not climbed for some time and feel they would benefit from coaching. We aim to give you a strong foundation of basic climbing knowledge to help improve your climbing.


Requirements: 18+ and climbing independently without supervision.



Members: £55

Non-members: £75


Duration: 8hrs (4 x 2hrs sessions)


Group Size: 3-8 people


Here is what we will be covering in each session:

  • How to warm up effectively.
  • The foundation of good climbing technique including footwork, body position and balance.
  • How and where to use these techniques on various wall angles.
  • Utilising your climbing shoe.
  • How to climb smoothly and effectively.
  • Basic route reading: hold types and how to use them.
  • The grading systems.
  • The importance and risk of trying harder climbs and how to approach them.
  • Injury prevention.
